About me:

My name is Rachael Collymore and I am from the twin island of Trinidad and Tobago. I am an individual with a passion for the arts and its development. I currently focus my attention on positively contributing to the creative sector and entertainment industry by producing arts-based events and showcasing artistes.

I started Poetic Vibes some years ago because I had a passion for writing and poetry and wanted to create a space for others with similar interests to share and express themselves… I created a Facebook group in 2007 and Poetic Vibes was born. I met and connected with many talented people across the globe using this medium and it sparked a desire in me to do something more. I believe that the greatest resource any society can have is its culture and creativity.

Poetic Vibes is now a registered business – ‘ever evolving, staying true to its base as a platform for the arts to showcase talented artisans and a hub for creative and artistic expression.

In 2010, the event series, ‘Synergia – a fusion of Art, Jazz and Poetry’ [and Photography], was launched; a product of Poetic Vibes. The event boasts of five successful shows; the third instalment commemorated the UNs International Year for People of African Descent (IYPAD) in 2011.

I also co-coordinated and hosted ‘An Equal Place’ – a collaborative event put on by the Circle of Poets TT with the support of the Emancipation Support Committee and the National Museum and Art Gallery, which also commemorated the UNs IYPAD.

At present, I am involved in Public Relations, Social Media and Events Management, which I love and enjoy doing. These disciplines are all part and parcel of the whole, however they are a small part of who I am. I thank God for aiding and guiding me on my daily journey and discovery. For me, that’s the only way I can do what I do.
