Join us Saturday, Sept. 26th from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. for the fifth annual installment of “100 Thousand Poets & Musicians for Change – St. Louis”! An official offshoot of the world-wide events created by Michael Rothenberg and Terri Carrion in 2011 and 2012, “100,000 Poets & Musicians for Change – St. Louis”, is a blending of the largest poetry and music events in history, with hundreds of countries around the world participating in the umbrella events. Recorded by Stanford University for placement in their LOCKSS Historical Preservation System, this year’s show will be held at MELT on Cherokee Street.

The St. Louis event will focus on active change, with local organizations present to give out information and accept donations, including Cherokee Street Reach, Hope over Hunger, Yeyo Arts, BACK @ YOU, LACE, Weekend Angels, and Missouri Jobs with Justice. Organized by Susan “Spit-Fire” Lively, Pacia Anderson, and Vincent “Ackurate” Manuel, “100 Thousand Poets & Musicians for Change – St. Louis” is free and open to the public, and MELT has a fine selection of beverages and food on hand. A diverse array of powerful and unique voices will grace the stage at this year’s show.
