How can we encourage change with our words? What are some of the things that we would like to change? The written word’s potential to change will be examined.

The Ancient City Poets and Women Writing for a Change will co-host an open mic on the subject of change on September 25th at 3 pm at Corazon Cinema and Cafe (located at 36 Granada Street, St. Augustine, Florida 32084). This gathering will be St. Augustine’s official participation in the global event 100 Thousand Poets for Change.

100 Thousand Poets for Change (Official)

All are invited to share a poem on the subject of change. The reading will be held “renga style” with no emcee or sign-up sheet and will end when everyone has had an opportunity to share. Now in its sixth year, poets around the world are uniting simultaneously for one weekend in a celebration of poetry to promote social, environmental, and political change. More info can be found on the 100 Thousand Poets for Change website: www.100tpc.org.
