Join us on Sunday, September 18, 2-4 pm at the Clover Center for Arts & Spirituality (The Baptist Temple, corner of Highland Ave & Clover St) for our Sixth Annual “100,000 Poets for Change” Reading.
In keeping with our past events, there will be no actual featured performers — everyone is featured! All are welcome to join us and perform: poets, singers, musicians, comics, dancers — even artists who’d like to show any work related to “change”!!
The event is basically an open mic for those who want to perform anything that in some way deals with the need for CHANGE in the United States and around the world, from the way we hold our elections to global warming to war and occupation to a living minimum wage to national health, the treatment of veterans dating back to the Vietnam War, fracking, the refugees being turned away from the European Union (while the US thinks about admitting a trickle!)….the list is endless.
BUT don’t worry if you don’t have any “change” work!! You’re free to perform whatever you’d like!! AND, of course, we always want audience members. So feel free to join us whether you plan to perform or not. And SPREAD THE WORD to your friends on FB and by email to others! This invite is PUBLIC, so anyone can view it, even if they don’t have a FB account!
Also, if you represent a progressive cause devoted to change, feel free to bring along pamphlets, flyers, books…whatever. Tables will be available.
Refreshments served. FREE admission. Donations to support Rochester Poets will be gratefully accepted.
