100,000 Poets for Change
At The Boiler Room

Saturday, Sept. 29
4 p. m. to 7 p. m

The Boiler Room
711 Water Street, Port Townsend
(360) 379-8247

100,000 Poets for Change is an international event taking place September 29th in about 700 locations and 110 countries worldwide.

The Boiler Room was packed for this event last year and promises the same this year. A difference is that last year the featured poets ranged in age from 13 to 87. This year all the freatured poets are under 30, as are the co-emcees, Rosie Wilcox and Phil Montenegro.

That’s part of the “change” this time around. Come to the event to find out what other changes are being called for.

The event is free, but the Boiler Room, a nonprofit youth-centered coffee house, accepts donations to help keep its doors open, and also offers “the best $1 coffee in town” and “the best $1 cookie in town” too.

If you come at 3 you’ll be in time not only to secure a seat but also to enjoy the free vegan soup offered each Saturday as part of the Boiler Room’s Food Not Bombs program.

The Open-Mic that follows the featured-poet section is open to all. Do please come and share your wishes, dreams and demands for change.

And please feel free to forward this announcement (and attached flier) to friends and family.

See you there!
