Charlotte Mecklenburg Library will host six 100 Thousand Poets for
change events: two childrens’ art and poetry workshops during which
kids will make an art poster with a poem on it, addressing one thing
they would change to make the world better; two teen poetry slams; one
multi-language open mic, and as our cap event, NC Poet Laureate Joseph
Bathanti will read and speak. Joseph’s work, as a teacher and an
artist, has long been engaged to affect political and social change.
He has also been involved with 100 Thousand Poets events since its
inception.
