In Tmol Shimshom—a lovely bookstore-cafe in Jerusalem known for its literary connections and history of writers working in it—several Hebrew-language and English-language poets gathered to read their work as part of the global 100,000 Poets for Change (100TPC) movement and event. This is the 5th year that the 100TPC organization has promoted and organized a global day of “poetry for change.” The official day this year was 26th September, 2015, as every year, the date was a Saturday at the end of September. In consideration of shabbat and the religious holy days calendars, the Jerusalem event was scheduled for 27 October, 2015. This was the third year that an event was organized in Jerusalem.

This year, Dorit Wiesman and Michael Dickel hosted the bi-lingual evening. Poets who read in Hebrew: Avigail Antman, Dorit Weisman, Gilad Meiri, Orit Metal, and Zvi Atzmon. Poets who read in English: Rachel Heimowitz, Michal Shilor (who also read a Hebrew poem she wrote), Michael Dickel, and Mike Stone. Dorit Weisman also showed a short film named “Neighbors” about two neighboring families in a building in the Jewish French Hill neighborhood in Jerusalem. Yossi Barhum votes for the Right because “one doesn’t betray one’s mother or political party”. The Zahalkas are an Arab family, originally from northern Israel.
