100 Thousand Poets for Change
Poets and Artists Unite Worldwide for Peace, Sustainability, and Justice
As part of the annual 100 Thousand Poets for Change Global Day, celebrated this year on September 26 worldwide, with over 500 events scheduled in more than a hundred countries, Agnes Scott College will flag its participation by hosting a gathering of poets, spoken-word performers, and artists that day. This year’s theme is Poets and Artists Unite for Peace, Sustainability, and Justice. The ASC event, organized by Professor Khwaja, will be held in the Frannie Auditorium, Campbell Hall, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, September 26, and offer poetry readings and spoken-word performances in multiple languages, as well as an opportunity for artists to display their art work on the designated theme. It is free and open to the public. Participants may read, or perform, in any language, their own poem, to music, if they wish to, or a poem by another that speaks to the subject, or they may present their artwork on the theme for the event.
I will be posting the information on the Agnes Scott Facebook page as well as, possibly, my own.
I hope this is in accord with your plans and has your acknowledgement and acceptance.
Best wishes,
Waqas
