You may write me down in history
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may tread me in the very dirt
But still, like dust, I’ll rise. From STILL I RISE BY MAYA ANGELOUThis is an invitation to all of those who enjoy reading and writing poetry to come and share poems about challenging discrimination in all its forms. All are welcome to read, either their own poem or one which inspires them.
The programme will begin with an introduction to PICAS (the Programme for Intercultural Arts Support) at the Community Arts Partnership, and a brief discussion on the role which the arts can play in challenging discrimination.
