Since 2011, 100,000 Poets for Change has been working with poets to help organize events around the world to promote peace, justice and sustainability. The Montana Book Festival is participating in the September 30th Global Event Day by hosting a poetry reading with the theme of change.

If you would like to read a poem about change, please submit your work (up to three poems) by Friday, September 1. The selection committee (made up of students and alumni of the University of Montana’s Creative Writing Program) will choose a diverse line-up by Friday, September 8. The reading will be free and open to the public.

If you are traveling from out of town to read at the Global Event Day, let us know if you would like us to ask a local poet to put you up overnight.
