Poets and poetry lovers are invited to participate in Poetry Exchange, this year’s 100 Thousand Poets for Change event, to take place at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Best Café from 2pm-4pm on Sunday, September 30. Bring poems written by you or a favorite poet on the topic of the environment, social justice, and/or positive change and be prepared to share.

100 Thousand Poets for Change is a massive undertaking. It’s a worldwide event whose purpose is to cultivate a more peaceful and just planet. To date, venues are taking place in 700 cities in 115 countries. (Visit the website below to find out who’s doing what where.) Thousands of poetry lovers in places like Cairo Egypt, Port Au Prince Haiti, and Ulanbaataar Mongoli have created events to demonstrate the power of poetry.

Add Richmond Virginia to the list. After last year’s successful Chalking for Poetry in Carytown, I’m organize this year’s event, Poetry Exchange. Come be a part of this global event that connects you with thousands of poets across the continents.
