Join us for complimentary drinks and light bites as we officially launch Orange Island Arts Foundation at World & Eye Arts Center! Meet the writers behind this new literary arts organization and learn about our future plans before the official 100 Thousand Poets for Change event. Enjoy tunes spun by Honest Bill and delicious baked goods presented by Cakes by Sarah. Enjoy an art installation by Nzingah Oniwosan and an interactive poetry-on-demand event hosted by Eat Your Poem.

After our launch party is 100 Thousand Poets for Change, an annual one-day event in which poets around the country and the globe gather in a celebration of poetry to promote social, environmental and political change. The 100TPC event at World and Eye, coordinated by OIAF, will feature poetry readings by such acclaimed authors as:

Plus, enjoy the Last Saturday Art Walk in FAT Village of Fort Lauderdale. During this social walkabout event, peruse galleries, studios and other creative spaces while enjoying music, drinks and local food trucks. Local vendors are also on hand for this popular event, offering creative handmade wares!

6-7 pm: Orange Island Arts Foundation Launch Party
7-10 pm: 100 Thousand Poets for Change Readings

Orange Island Arts Foundation, which is based in Broward County yet serves South Florida and beyond, is an organization that encourages creativity; cultivates learning; and engages youth, established and aspiring writers, and the community at large with the literary arts. By providing avenues for local and national artists, we seek to inspire those who are interested in further developing their talents.
