The Munich Readery Presents A global event focusing on peace, sustainability and justice. Saturday, Sept. 26 19:00 “The only reason you say that race was not an issue is because you wish it was not. We all wish it was not. But it’s a lie. I came from a country where race was not an issue; I did not think of myself as black and I only became black when I came to America.” —- Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Americanah With immigration so much in the news and in our conversations, the Munich Readery invites poets and prose writers, singers and musicians and other performers to share their original, creative contributions on the themes of immigration, identity, inclusion/exclusion, belonging and home. The event is open to all, but people of the global majority (people targeted by racism) are particularly invited to share their work. Participants will have between 5 and 10 minutes to share their contributions, depending on how how many people wish to take part. If you would like to read or perform, please send a brief email to Lisa at: This event will be one of more than 500 such events, taking place on September 26 in more than 100 countries. This event is free, and listeners are also welcome. Seating will be on a first come basis. Join us! For more information on 100 Thousand Poets for Change, go to:
