This event will be held from September 17th through September 30th, 2017.
Dear My Haiku Pond & haiku friends,
Welcome to the 2nd Annual Haiku for Change Event (2017) in conjunction with 100 Thousand Poets for Change (Global) 2017.
PROMPT: Write only 1 NEW haiku (or senryu, haiga, or photo-haiku) regarding the issue of (over)population, climate change, or the ecology. Focus on change, without using the word change! Make the world a better place by writing some food for thought…
HOW TO JOIN: Post your finished ‘poem’ on the ‘2nd Annual Haiku for Change Event (2017)’ page. Your submission is welcome from September 17th through September 30th, 2017.
RESULTS: All entries will be included in an Anthology of Haiku for Change, which will be posted on the 100 Thousand Poets for Change website, and archived by Stanford University as part of their program to document the 100 Thousand Poets for Change movement and community.
Additionally, My Haiku Pond will publish a ‘Haiku for Change 2017 Anthology’ e-chapbook which will include our editor’s selection of this event’s submissions.
We hope you will enjoy this event and attendance will be even greater than last year’s event.
The event is free! Please contact us, if you want to support My Haiku Pond in any way.
Fondly,
Michael Smeer & the MHP team
