Bruce Kauffman – Kingston, Ontario, Canada 2017

ORGANIZER: Bruce Kauffman

The Spire, 82 Sydenham St [United Church] – corner of Sydenham & William.

Saturday, Sept 23rd, with an afternoon and evening session – Kingston’s tie to the annual and global 100 Thousand Poets for Change series of events. It will include 4 musical acts and over 2 dozen featured poetry readings tied thematically around the concepts of social justice and change, peace, and environmental awareness and sustainability.

The attached & updated flier includes the itinerary, but briefly each session begins and ends with a musical performance and each session includes an intermission. I believe light food & beverage will be provided. Doors open at 1pm, with the Welcome beginning at 1:45, and the afternoon session will run until approximately 5:30. Doors will remain open between it and the evening session beginning at 7, and that will run until 10pm.

Admission is free, but there will be a donation table. That will include information from 3 social awareness/justice agencies for those who might want to donate. They are: Community Harvest Kingston, Kingston Interval House, and The Kingston Action Group for a Basic Income Guarantee Charter. I will have a donation box up as well for the venue, The Spire, itself for all the work they do to help support a number of community groups – and of course for providing its wonderful space for this event.
